my boyfriend was christened but made no other sacraments. We yes are living in sin together with our blended family. He dose not go to church. I have made christining, communion and conformation. His x wife was prodistian and they got married in Hawaii on the beach ( yea .great) but we brushed over the topic about us getting married one day and I told him that I would only get married in a catholic church.. my old school italian grandma told me that his marriage wasent reconised in the eyes of god because they didn't get married in the church? Is this true? Would he have to complete his sacraments for us to be able to get married in a catholic church?

The best thing for you to do is speak with the church that you would like to plan the event at to see what their guidelines are for the marriage to be able to take place there. I'm not Catholic so I don't know what their requirements are, but I am a Christian and my church requires couples to be baptized members and to do premarital counsiling through the church in order to get married there. Other churches require the same or similar. As for a marriage to be recognized by God, no offense, by your grandmother is wrong. A church building is just that, a building. You don't need to be married in the building itself for God to recognize the marriage. God sees all and if you are married by a priest/minister/pastor legally and for the right reasons then it will be recognized.

It is going to be hard to get married in the Catholic Church, had he not been baptised, it would have actually been easier.

The church will have to from the churches view, do an anullment of his marriage before he can marry you. Also there is a need to show that you are not "living in sin" prior to the wedding.

You need to discuss the issue with the priest.

Some priests and churches will marry you but not at the alter.

God knows all marriages the only difference is if the church blesses or not
