    Adoption
My husband and I want myself to adopted his daughter her mother will be having her right taken away at the end of this month. For non payment of court order child support. We were wondering about how much it would cost us?

Why not ask that question of a few attorneys in your jurisdiction?

I have a hard time believing that a court is terminating parental rights based SOLELY on the mother not making child support payments.

Something else is going on there.

I suggest you contact an attorney in your area. I would never do an adoption without one. Think of it this way: While you COULD set a bone yourself and not see a doctor, would'nt you want to? Same thing with adoption. You CAN do it without a lawyer---but you'd be pretty silly to do so.

    I don't understand something.

What's so hard about picking up the phone, calling a lawyer's office and ask how much something like that might cost?

We can't really give you a better answer, particularly when we don't know where you are and, even if we did know your location, most of us don't know going rates for things like that wherever you live.

Yes, she may be having her rights to visit, but I don't know of courts that take away rights for non support, that is not even an allowed reason to lose rights I many states.

I would say that for an adoption she will still have to sign her rights over
