Sewer gas smell after cleaning shower
We have a laundry room/bathroom in our finished basement. Last week, I cleaned the shower walls and curtain with bleach. Within a day or so, we began smelling sewer gas in our laundry room. When I smelled the shower drain itself, it did not smell like gas. We checked several drains and couldn't find anything wrong. In the past, we have cleaned a substantial amount of hair and slime out of the drain. Could the bleach have caused this gunk to loosen and get lodged somewhere else? Our drains seem to be drainig fine. Do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks -
    Melissa

Hi Melissa, Try flushing out the shower drain a few large pans of boiling water. Good luck, Tom
