GE Washer will Spin but will not agitate
I have no experience with appliances, but before calling a repair man, I was wondering what might cause a GE washer to be able to spin, but not agitate. Could it be something that I could fix on my own? I hear it trying to agitate, but kind of makes a buzzing noise when it is on the agitate cycle.

I found this on the internet somewhere and can't believe it worked! If you have power surges where you live or the power goes off sometimes, try this. Unplug the washer for 1 minute. Plug it back in. Within a couple of seconds, open and close the lid 6 times. It resets something electrical. Couldn't believe it worked! My GE washer started agitating and spinning again!

The tub inside is off balance. I think it maybe the spacer (or what ever they are called). What are they called and how do I fix it. Lesa
