What if you are new and there is a bully at the new school. Than what do you do?
Is this a hypothetical question? Or are you actually being bullied? In general, the best thing to do is ignore them. Bullies pick on people to get a reaction. They feel bad about themselves or something in their own lives but don't know how to deal with it so they take it out on other people. If they can't get a rise out of you, they'll usually leave you alone. If either a) that doesn't work or b) you or someone else is in physical danger because of it, tell a teacher or other trusted adult. Nowadays with cell phones and, if you can believe the media, school's reluctance to address bullying problems, anytime you can record bullying to show adults, that's best.
Also, if someone else is being picked on, don't encourage the bullying and stand up for the person being picked on. Sometimes all if takes to make someone back down is saying "not cool."
[There is a bullying law and a zero tolerance policy in schools.
There is a law against cyber-bullying.. thats texting threats or saying something derogatory against another person. That includes cyber-bullying on a computer.
Advice... If someone is bullying you tell the principal and your parents.
Bullying is a crime and the school administrators know that. You don't need to fear being called a tattle- tale... the principal has to be discreet about it.
Read the handbook you get on the schools policies.. Just remember it is a crime and stopping it before it starts is the best thing... Good Luck:)
Had to spread the rep. I know you're right kat, there are rules and laws against it. Unfortunately, too many teachers and administrators do little to nothing to enforce any of them. Having the courage and wisdom to make sure all of the adults around know what's going on makes it more likely it will be enforced, at least most of the time.
Just stay away from bullies and if they talk to u walk away
There will always be bullies in schools it is a nature of life, just like there are "bullies" that adults deal with on various levels.
First you ignore them, and if you have to report them. And as I have told my boys before most bullies have low self respect and are really scared people, who pick on people they believe to be weaker or smaller.
Something is always done in UK if bullies are reported plus schools now have cameras everywhere, well out of or in school the whole place or most of it has cameras at every turn, literally, and that's no exaggeration.
So always report any one who tries to bully you Always!!
I understand what your saying but sometimes even though it sounds basd he might need to show that bully that he isa not going to take it.. He needs to stand up for himself and I don't think telling a teacher at 15 years of age and in high school that's going to work. Sorry kido I think you may need to stand up for yourself and show him who is the man...
Good luck remember kido don't fight just to fight but only if you have to and absolutely no other choice...
Apparently you don't have children. How can one kid fight three or four?
Whether you know it or not bullies run in packs of two or three. Telling a child to fight at school is inexcusable. BULLYING LAWS ARE MADE FOR ALL AGES.
It happens every day and some of these kids end up committing suicide when they are bullied. Check your state laws on this and then come back and tell a kid to fight...
