how do you write and balance this equation? Copper metal reacts with concentrated nitric acid. I think there is a special way too and I don't know how to do it. Thanks

I believe the equation for the reaction of concentrated nitric acid with copper metal is :

    Cu(s) + 4HNO3(aq) ——> Cu(NO3)2(aq) + 2NO2(g) + 2H2O(l)

That is the equation when copper metal is oxidized by concentrated nitric acid any way. Dilute has another equation

    Hope that helps :)
