How do I vacate a default judgement
I had a credit card which went past due and I had no way to continue to pay it off. I tried to settle and came to an agreement. I paid the amount directly to the card company and the collection lawyers still filed a suit against me. They agreed to the settlement and I sent the check. Several years later the lawyers started to call again noting I now owed more money ignoring the settlement. A judgement was entered and I'm afraid of what will happen. I am disabled and only receive ssi to live on. I did do my best to settle this debt because I thought I wouldn't make at the time. I was pretty sick and wanted to clear as much of my debt as I could. While working I had no problem paying off my bills. Not always on time but I had to wait to be paid and that's all I could do.
I one of the last conversations I had with this firm they mentioned that the settlement was for 900.00 more than what I paid. Not sure haw they came up with that but we spent hours settling on figures that they accepted. I didn't just pull this from my hat. I'm still with a very serious disease and feel that my family and myself worked with them and paid this debt off and all I want is for this to be resolved.
    Please help.

Don't you have the settlement in writing?

I don't have a settlement letter confirming my payoff. There were so many people involved on there end that someone new called each time during the settlement negotiations. What can I do about a default judgement? Can I vacate it with proof that I paid the settlement?
Please help, my blood pressure will not take it much longer.
