How far can dishwasher be from sink?
What's the max distance a dishwasher can be from the sink? Mine will be about 8 feet, will this cause the dishwasher to malfunction?
    Thanks,
    Carmen

I've seen dishwashers as far as 10' or so from the sink... but the further you go, the more chances you have of backflow problems due to the high point of the discharge line not being much higher then where it empties into your sink drain line.

If I were you I'd scratch my chin a bit more to see if I could somehow get it closer to the sink.

But please wait: We have the best plumbers on the internet answering questions here. I'm not one of them... so give it another day or two until you hear from one of our Plumbing experts.

No limit! Just make sure you include a high loop (see image) or a counter top air gap (see image and keep them both as close as you can to the DW because unless you slope the hose to the discharge point it will remain in the hose Good luck, Tom
