Internet relationship, how to dump a guy?
Okay, you met this guy over the internet but he's getting close to you and your not in love with him... any ideas on how to handle it? He says he loves you, also you can't meet him because you live in different places...

How long have you been communicating with him?
Have you told him that you love him?

How about being honest? Let the person know that you're no longer interested and go from there.

This would work (and be reasonable) IF and AS LONG AS the relationship is not a long one. If it's a long one where the asker told the other that she loves him, then a quick dumping would be mean, in my opinion.

Yes, a quick message to the tune of "Sorry, I'm no longer interested" can work... but if the guy knows where you live, your phone number, etc. or you've led him on in some way, then it may be more complicated than a quick "I'm not interested" message.

I assume that you've never actually went on a date with him, so what's the problem?

This may seem a little crude, but simply email him and tell him that a long distance relationship with him is not working out and it’s over. Then change your phone number, block him off your Facebook or My Space and go on with your life.

From your post it would appear that this relationship has all been online messenger / email etc ?

There are 2 options you can take.

1st option is to send a long dear John letter and let the person down gently but be honest and tell them the way you feel and why your ending it etc and why you do not see them in the same way as they see you.

2nd option is very harsh just send a no contact message then cut all communication.

I agree with this person, but a conversation through IM would probably work better. If you want you can allow him to ask questions and such. Then if he won't accept that... cut him off. I know it's not simple, I'm sort of in the same boat. I keep it honest with this guy though. I think that's the key, be honest. Good luck!

Just tell him that you want different things out of the relationship and you don't want to lead him on anymore.

If he persists in trying to 'win you back' or is bothering you in any other way, just block him on everything.

As you can see, regardless of which method you use, the advice is the same... Just tell him you don't want any relationship with him and move on.

    Hi, Quirkee!
