Firefox has stopped launching in Mac OS X, it was working fine when I last shut down the computer

Trash your current Firefox from the applications folder, if Firefox is not in the applications folder pull it there and see if that fixes your problem, if not.
Reinstall Firefox from a installer disk image you have just downloaded. Reinstalling this way will not over right your bookmarks and other saved information.

Try re-installing Firefox or moving it.
