I remember seeing it on B/W TV in the '70 when I was a little child. I remember very few details. It's about a kid with a rare disease. He could only survive in a glass chamber inside a hospital. He can only see the parents and friends through the glass wall. He can get gifts from outside only after they are somehow sterilized. He could not live like this any more and convinced a friend to help him escape. I think the door has been opened using a radio antenna. I vague remember that he reached home finally and died home on Christmas/new year eve.

Possibly The Boy in the Plastic Bubble (1976) (TV), not be mistaken for Bubble Boy which was a stupid blooper type remake.
