Area covered by thermostat.

Do u have more than one zone.

Most times they are located on inside wall in center of area heated. Approx 6 feet from floor or eye level.

If bedrooms are on separate zone usually in master bedroom.

5'. Away from direct sun. Usually an inside wall. Plug hole where wires pass through wall. Can lead to errors. Avoid kitchens, baths and away from registers.

Some stats allow the sensor to be placed in a different location than the stat.
