Crime and Englishness - English Module
    Hi

I'm having a bit of difficulty figuring out what this question wants me to do.

"The Detective is a man apart, an extraordinary individual who observes all thatthose around him cannot". How far is this view of the detective antithetical to the idea of national identity?

I have to answer it in relation to Hercule Poirot's Murder on the Orient Express.

    Thanks

    Lizzie

It is asking you how the idea of the Detective is in opposition to that of the idea of national identity, meaning that a country or nation is one entity in language, culture, traditions, etc.
