Hello,

I want to know the number of printouts taken from the printer, as my printer cartridge seems to drain up pretty quick. I do take out prints regularly. Though I'm taking prints in text mode. Its turning out to be very expensive for me to keep buying the cartridges for every 100 prints. I checked out all the properties in the Printer Props. But could not find any print counter property. It's a standalone system (Home PC).

Is there any way I can track how many prints have been taken from the time I install a new cartridge?? I'll be replacing my cartridge very soon, so I want to be ready for it.

Windows XP Pro, SP3, Epson CX5500 printer (MFD). I use Epson T0731 Standard Ink cartridge which should yield around 240 pages as per epson, which seems very unlikely. Hence I want to know the print count.

Usually (at least when I was in the business) page counts were based on a coverage of about 5% per page.

The standard was a normal the business letter.

As far as ink usage, the busier the page, the faster you will use up the cartridge.

Epson mfrs 2 types of cartridges:
1. Standard Ink Cartridge which should yield about 240 pages in black.
2. Low Cost Ink Catridge which will yield about 170 pages in black.

I just installed a Low Cost Ink Cart a few days ago and have taken a max of 50 pages and the cartridge is already drained, & showing its ready for a new one... I may get another 20 odd prints with the remaining ink.

So I thought there should have been a counter or some sort of a program on the internet avlbl, & since there is no feature to check the number of prints taken in the printer properties..
