I want to dye my hair a sort of ashy blonde . I currently have light brown hair . I was thinking of using a pre lightener and then a toner but I don't want to do too much damage . My hair is in fairly good condition at the moment as I have never dyed it before.

There are lots of kits of hair colour where you simply comb in the colour, let it sit for 10-20 minutes, then wash out and condition. They are generally not too harsh and should not damage your hair. Pre-lightener and toner seems unnecessary, light brown hair is very easy to colour.

If you have never dye dit then your hair is perfect for the process... are you looking for highlight look or full color.beci recommend using revlon in 5... light ash blonde my friend uses it on her hair and she get a soft baby blonde look .if that's too light just get a dark level blonde and go for level 7.goodluck :)
