Ball at end of shower head pipe is stuck and won't come off. What to do?

Try some WD-40 let it soak for a few minutes and try, good luck.

Can you post a picture of this ball? I remember working on a very old home one time and the ball was part of the shower arm and not removeable. It captured the shower head and made a swivel arrangement for the head. In this case the entire shower arm must be unscrewed from the wall.
