    Violation of probation in MD
I recently had a friend arrested because the officer stated that he had an warrant out for his arrest for violation of probation about 6yrs ago. The probation is said to come from a traffic violation. In between the time of him getting this probation and now, he has had traffic tickets, pulled over, and recently had to go to traffic court for a ticket why was none of this brought to his attention or came out in court. If we check his record none of charges issued an warrant. Of course there was no bail and he has been locked up for 30 days now. My question is it possible that is so Warrant that was issued slipped through the system for 6 years and what is the min-max time he will have to serve for a traffic violation.

Yes, it's possible that the warrant didn't pop up during the past six years. In fact, it's evident that it did not.

He may have to serve whatever the time is for the traffic violation as well as failure to appear.

    Hello r:

Judy is right. Of course if could slip through. It obviously DID. But, you can't get probation and/or jail for just a traffic violation. What the violation was DOES matter.
