    What should I expect
I live in Wyoming and just told my husband that I wanted to file for a divorce. We have a 14 month old son and I don't want him to get custody. My husband is an over the road truck driver and wants to buy his own big rig so I know that he is not going to get a place of his own to live in with our son, but I am scared that he might try to come into town and not tell anyone and then go to the babysitters house and try to take our son without anyone knowing. I don't want him to get custody and then leave our son in the care of his parents who live in Washington state. My father-in-law is a pedophile (literally). He molested his own daughter and I don't want my son to fall into those cracks. What do I do?

I do not want to alarm you but, run and do not walk to the prosecutors office and ask for an order of protection and please tell them the reason "why". The action you take will help in determining whom should have full custody of the child. No judge in their right mind will endanger a child or place a child in harms way... if they could help it. The only issues I would have with you is are you a felon, a substance abuser, etc... these actions will determine whether you are a fit parent. If, you have none of these problems then, the courts will have no problem in giving you what you ask.

Luna, I got to spread the love here!!

My only other question is that has the father-in-law ever been convicted? If not then it is he said, she said.

But an OTR driver does not provide a stable home that a child needs either.

Ok, hint, if you are sure you are going to get a divorce, the other party needs to be told after you have filed for custody of the child, file for divorce, file for temp custody, those are done at least the day after if not the same day you tell him.

Also go down and take allt he money out of all your bank accounts, if he does it first you won't have any money for an attorney, to money for bils and so on.

Once you have the custody order, inform anyone that keeps the children of it, and that he is not allowed to take the child
