I am trying to come up with a Phd accounting dissertation topic. I do not have any work experience in accounting, but I do have experience in procurement and inventory management. I would like to have a topic in procurement or inventory management relates to accounting so I can be more comfortable. Any ideas? Please help.

I find it difficult to understand how you could reach this level and not have a dissertation topic. PHD are supposed to be leaders. Surely recent events in your country suggest topics. How about the costs of gun ownership in the community, the real costs of sub prime mortgages, the true costs of tobacco, hedge fund manipulation of markets, cost effective renewable energy, the summer of 2012 get out of your comfort zone or invent a new method of inventory valuation
