We have a Kenmore 27" laundry center washer-dryer combo. The dyer all of a sudden won't turn on. We checked the 2 problems the book reccomends checking... the plug and the fuse. Both are fine. That leaves the thermal limiter... how do we check that? Is it an easy repair that we can do it ourselves?

It depends on your dryer. I am having a similar problem, but mine is a frigidaire. If yours is anything like mine, you have to gain access to the inside of the machine, most seem like they are top entry. Mine has little clips under the top surface that have to be pushed back so they release. Once inside, there is a upper limit thermostat? That should be right next to the thermal limiter. From what I gather, there should be no resistance through a volt ohm meter if you disconnect the wires (two appiece) and touch the opposing connections. If there is resistance, then they need to be replaced. It shouldn't be more than a couple of screws.
