I left a hose on the exterior spigot at my house and it is now leaking. I assume that I have ruptured the pipe or hose bib. According to my measurments on the outside of the house the spigot is located on an exterior bathroom wall. I thought it would have needed more length and would have gone into the interior wall between my bathroom and laundry room. Is it possible for it to be only as long as the thickness of an exterior wall?

When I turn the water on at the spigot, all of the water leaks out from behind the siding. I have pulled the siding back and can not visibly see the leak . The water is coming from the hole in the wall for the pipe. Because of this I assumed it was leaking from further into the wall.

If it is a frost free type it is probably anywhere from 8 to 14" long. Does it line up with an interior wall that is perpendicular to the exterior wall. (sounds like you have a slab home?)
Since you left the hose on, (a big no no) that could rupture anywhere from the outside portion back to the end of the shaft where the seal is.
