Im thinking on having a swimming party for my sons 1st birthday. Anyone that has done this, how did it go? Any tips?

Has your son already gone in the pool with you? I only ask because some kids really freak out their first time in the pool. And what are the ages of the other children that will be attending?

Yes and he loves the water! That's why I thought this would be great. But all the children will be family ranging to as old as 12

That sounds like it would fun then. You might want to make sure there's some activities for kids that aren't as excited for swimming yet though.
