I have a desktop and a laptop on a wireless router network.
Recently due to a startup failure problem on the desktop, which was resolved by restoring windows using the master disk, I lost all of my programmes & I then re-installed the free ones.
Originally both computers ,when purchased, had 'Microsoft Works' installed.
However I now have MSWorks on the lap top only.
Is there a method of copying MSWorks to or sharing MSWorks with the Desktop?

Honestly don't bother.
MSworks has got to be one of the least productive of all the office suites.
You would be better off getting Open Office instead.

It will open and edit any works files you throw at it, but it does so much more.

I agree with the above. We can help configure it so that it saves files in all the standard Office file formats.

I was aware of the existence of Open Office (& also I have a reg key for Ashampoo Office 2008).
However my wife had become accustomed to using MSWorks.
You have now persuaded us that the loss is not such a disadvantage.
After having a look at it I have now installed Open Office on both computers.

OPen Office has a very similar operating layout to Works, which in itself is based (loosely) on mS office.

OpenOffice.org (OO.o)is the best bet here, Works leaves a lot to be desired. If you got works on your system when you bought it it should have a disk or be on a additional disk supplied with your computer, or passably on your recovery disk if you had to make them yourself. I am not sure that OOo will open MS Works files.
Please consider changing from MS Works to OO.o
