    What is a "jail felony?"

    I say no.

Sorry. It would make no sense having the fox guard the chicken coop. Felons cannot be probation officers, juvenile or adult.

I would like to see a reference to some case law preventing this. I completely disagree, and have SEEN a felon be a juvenile supervisor. Laws may have change regarding this since I was on juvenile supervision 10 years ago and they may not be the same where you are, however I know for a fact that it's perfectly legal in Wisconsin for a felon to be a juvenile supervisor.

I'm not a lawyer, I do not claim to be an expert, I speak only from personal experience.

I don't see this as a case law matter - it is a question of licensing and many of this on this site have considerable law enforcement experience and know the hiring guidelines.

I am not aware that anyone said it was ILLEGAL for a felon to be a juvenile supervisor.

You're right, no one specifically said it was illegal. However, the word "can't" WAS used, and I know for a fact that felons work/have worked in the juvenile correctional system.

Like I said, I'm not a lawyer nor an expert. I speak only from personal experience.

We take great pride in our answers on the legal board - we speak from experience (like you), education, working in the field.

Please keep that in mind. Your advice is no more valuable than anyone else's nor is it any less valuable.
