    French drains and sump pumps

Is it that french drain pipe should be connected to sump pump pit with a hole in the pit wall through a hole equal to the diameter of drain pipe or it can be left out the pit as pit wall has small holes?

Drainage pipe should pass through the wall of the sump crock to insure best drainage.

A great way to disperse the water once it gets outside the house is a home made dry well,(see image). Good luck, Tom
