I always leave the door open on my washer when I am done for at least 24 hours. I do live in FL so it is more humid, but my laundry room is in the house so it should dry out. But when I put my face near the opening, it smells moldy. I do not feel water sitting in the tub. I have tried to run a hot water wash with ammonia thinking it was just dirty. All the wash cycles work and there are no unknown noises. Has anyone else experienced this?

The smell your getting may not be a mold smell. It may be from the rubber components breaking down. It does smell almost the same.
