    Dual state residence
My fiancé is a NJ resident, I am a Texas resident. He works as a consultant and has a place he rents in NJ, he also has a child in NJ and spends 7-10 days in NJ a month. His company pays his travel to Texas to work as a consultant.

I lease a place in Texas and work in Texas. We want to get a bigger place and he may need to sign the lease.

We are holding off on getting married because we have so many unanswered questions.

Can he sign a lease with me if we are married and he intends to continue to reside in New Jersey, pay texes there, continue his lease there, and maintain he current visitation with his child?

Can we file our taxes jointly and reside in two different states?

Those are the two main questions.
