I am from Riverside CA.
Im Currently 17 and trying to look for a job. I stopped school because I'm a stay a home mom. I know its hard to get a job at this age and school but is there any chance I can get a job or I do I have to wait till I turn 18? I tried applying to mcdonalds,jack in the box but now in days everything has to do with eithier a diploma or GED, but my thought are that Ya I have to wait. Any Suggestions/answers

You should get a fast food job, are you applying to 4 to 6 places a day at least

Go back and get your GED

You need to get back in school. Look into your local community college. You may or may not need your GED to take classes. You'll have a much better chance of finding a well-paying job so you can support your child later if you complete your education. Many schools have some sort of assistance for parent students. In the mean time, you should be applying to as many jobs as you can, as chuck suggested. Fast food places, movie theaters, grocery stores, retail stores. Apply everywhere you can. I don't think turning 18 will make much of a difference in determining whether you're hired. Having an education will.

To add to what others have already said here, may I suggest sending applications to staffing agencies? Those places tend to have wider connections and will find jobs more quickly for you.

In the meantime, consider continuing your education part-time. There should be online or correspondence options available.

Nom nom made a great point. There's so many courses offered online through community colleges these days. You could plan your study schedule around your child's schedule and not have to worry about child care since you could do all or nearly all of your school work at home.

But right now I don't have the time to go back to school that's why I stopped going in the first place! But ill keep trying maybe in a about a year or so ill try adult EDUCATION.
