    Child support payments
I am currently paying child support for a child I do not see. I live in Ohio and the address she provided the court is not her residential address. She moved back with her parents. The child is the one hurting the most but I am finacially as well. The mom is unemployed and I am basically supporting both. Do I have rights to have the child support reduced or even stopped?

Not under the circumstances. If you can show that your income has changed since the original support order, you may be able to get a modification. No way you can get out of paying entirely.

If you have an issue with not being able to see the child, is there a visitation order in place?

Her circumstances have nothing to do with you paying child support for your child. The only time that would change is if you were unemployed or had your income reduced - then you could motion the court for a reduction in your payments. Just because she lives with her parents is meaningless as it pertains to your obligations to your child financially.

In fact in some states, if she was working when support was ordered, if she stopped working ( though no fault of her own) the court may order more support, some states base in on a plan that involves both incomes.

The only way it goes down is if you start earning less normally, most states base it on a percent of your income.

** why don't you see your child ?

You not seeing the child has nothing to do with support
