Whenever I use my washing machine the water floods up through the sink and over flows. The sink is very very slow to drain. I have had a plumber out and he has checked my pipe work in my flat but he said there was no blockage and said it was a council problem. I called out my local council who came out and could not find a blockage anywhere. I am reluctant to call out dyno-rod as both the council and the plumber used camaers to check for blockages. My washing machine is is less than a year old, I only moved into the property 3 months ago and I have had the problem from day 1. I believe the previous occupier also had problems. Any suggestions...

If the washer ever worked without backing up into the sink and now it overflows then something's blocking the flow.
That's only good sense.
Of course you have a clog.
Snake the line from the sink vent.
The blockage will be found down stream from it. Put out enough snake to reach the base and 20 feet more. Good luck, Tom

Hi Tom, Thanks for your quick response. I've only lived in the flat for 3 months and its backed up into the sink from the very first time I used it. A plumber has checked for blockages to the edge on my property and found nothing. Is there any chance that its something to do with the set up of the pipes, maybe they are too narrow and that they can't drain the water away quick enough so it overflows the sink? Thanks Lou
