I lied to my best friend, I over exaggerated something, and I wish I hadn't and I shouldn't have done it. But I've done it and I don't know what to do. She won'tt talk to me, and now shouts abuse at me whenever I walk past :/ x How do I tell her I'm sorry and that I haven't been telling people she's been lying to people.

Give your friend some time to cool off first.

Then, send her an e-mail apologizing and saying that you would like to clear up a misunderstanding, and reassure her of the fact that you haven't been telling people what she thinks you have been telling them.

With e-mail, she has time to process your message and decide what she wants to do (forgive or not).

I did this... and I think she has just either deleted the email... or just chose to egnore it all together, I have spoken to one of my other friends about it.. and she says that its not worth it, if she wants to egnore my apoliges etc. then there's no point in trying anymore, she's not a true friend if she won't listen to my side of things. Is my friend right, should I just forget about it and get on with my life?

Thank you all. I spoke to her today, and we sorted everything out, it turns out she had read my email, but just wasn't sure what to reply and after speaking today we sorted everything out and straightened it all up. Thank you all for your help :)
