My case involved a divorce cash settlement in 1991 in which my ex refused to comply with the judgement and in 2005 became an estate matter. I hired an attorney who said his legal fees would come directly from his estate and filed a motion stating the same. In may the case was settled and my attorney took his fees without my knowledge from my settlement. I questioned him but he refused to discuss them. I have no copies of any paperwork, only his statement charges on his billing. How can I get copies of documents from the Elizabeth, NJ Court House to proceed in this action against him.

Go to the court where it was file and get copy of all the document in the file.

Contact the court clerk or the clerk of the presiding judge. But if you proceed in an action against the atty, you better have your own atty, who should have no problem getting those documents.
