Hello,

My visa changed from F-1 OPT to H-1B from March 1, 2010. What should I fill in Form 8843 Line 1b (Current nonimmigrant status and date of change)?
F-1 itself since that was the non-immigrant status as of Dec 31, 2009
OR
H-1B since this is the non-immigrant status as of today

Also same question for Form 1040nr Page 5 Item F:
"Have you ever changed your visa type (nonimmigrant status)?"
Should I write yes or no?

I believe in Form 8843 Line 1a (Type of U.S. visa (for example, F, J, M, Q, etc.)), I should be writing it as F-1 only. Am I right?

On 2009 tax return, your current nonimmigrant status is F-1.
