What's wrong with flattening WD40, or similar pressure cans, providing you release all the pressure from the can ?

I don't see anything wrong with it except putting unused chemicals in the Air, our air. Would be nice if they had recycling for those containers, The only reason I see an individual doing this is because of the room a full can takes up?
