I was arrested when I was 17 on a gun possession charge and recently was released from prison. Someone I knew but didn't hang out with was arrested with a gun and said it was mine but I wasn't there.so the next day I went to speak with the police and they arrested me. Is that still a violation?

You are required to report ALL police contact to your PO. As long as you did that, you have not violated. IF, however, you're convicted of the new gun charge, you will also violate your probation.
