Pilot light turns off when I turn my heater off
    Hi,
Hope someone can help with this problem I've been having with my heater. I have a Day & Night heater and whenever I turn the heater off, the pilot light goes off and I have to manually light the pilot each time. Any clues on what could be the problem?
    Thanks for any help!

Is this a pilot that is supposed to stay lit all the time or is this a pilot that is suppose to light itself as the thermostat calls for heat. The answer to you question is different with each type of pilot. Give us some informations and maybe one of us can help.

Thanks for all your replies. I tried cleaning the pilot light and so far, that seems to have been the culprit. My heater's been working fine for the past hour so we'll keep our fingers crossed. Thanks again! By the way, letmetellu, it's a pilot light that's supposed to stay lit all the time.
