Why is it that everyone I meet always goes on about how everything sucks but they don't do ANYTHING to change it. I feel like Im the only sane person in this world sometimes. If something is burning your hand, do you keep your hand on it? NO. This is specifically towards my friend who is dating this guy that treats her like crap. She is a great person and we have so much in common and I think we might be able to go somewhere as a couple but this guy is her first real boyfriend and she had her first kiss with him so she's really attached to him. He ignores her and tells her to shut up, calls her stupid. But she won't leave him. She keeps giving him opportunities to change and he says he will but then doesn't. He doesn't deserve her. I think she deserves someone like me who will actually love her and WANT to be with her. How do you make someone put their foot down? Better yet, how do you make someone open their eyes?

I wish I knew the answer to that, Im one of the ones that holds the flame in my hand and complains that it burns.

Honestly you can not force somebody to change or to open their eyes. I know it must be hard to watch or hear about this but it is her choice, and her choice alone to stay in this relationship or not. Unless you present her with other options? Just saying...
