    Tenants rights in foreclosure
I am renting a home in Va and the owner did not tell me that he was going into foreclosure I had been contacted by someone asking me to move in 21 days . How long of time do I have before I actually have to move. Also my lease runs out in January. Do I have any rights at all? Thanks for your help

If the landloard did not tell you about the foreclosure and had you sign a lease, fraud upon the lease is evident. The person who contacted you to move, who was it? They would not have a valid claim until the foreclosure is finalized. Your rights are few.

First, the Introductions forum is for introducing yourself to the site, not for asking questions. I've requested your note be moved to the correct forum.

Second, it appears foreclosures can terminate any existing leases, so your rights are limited. On the flip side, if you don't move prior to the foreclosure they will have to start eviction proceedings. How long that takes depends on your area and whether you get a sympathetic judge.
