I'm looking for a car. Something $1000 or less. I don't want to have car payments. So I as wondering if anyone knwe where I could get that

Have you checked your local paper? Craigslist? Used car lots? Local bank or police auctions?

I am not sure I would want to try to go someone in a 1000 car, But a check of craigs list found some, I dobt any would pass an inspection here in Atlanta

@ hheath541 - I haven't checked the paper. Yes, I checked Craigslist.. but it seems like almost every car I see there that I like... its something wrong with it. For ex, new engine, exhaust etc.

I don't know what you mean when you say local bank. They sell cars?? Police auction??

Banks usually have an auction at least once a year, usually during the summer, and sell the cars they've repo'd. They just want to get whatever was left of the loan, so you can sometimes find cars for a few hundred dollars that are only a couple years old.

Police auction off cars that were either impounded and never claimed, or seized for legal reasons. They don't care how much money they get out of the cars. You can get really nice cars for really cheap.

Found a car you guys! Got it from a dealership that was able to give me a car payment within my budget. My spouse and I share the payments. We had the car for almost 6 months now. So far so good!
