I worked as an independent contractor and received 1099 misc income.
I am holding an f1 visa and I worked as an independent contractor and received 1099 form. My questions are:

    1. what are the taxes that I should pay? I know I'm exempt from SE taxes. How many percent of other taxes that I am going to pay?

    2. can I deduct the expenses I had when workng as independent contractor?

    3. is it possible that I will not owe any tax because I also have a w2 form?

    Thanks!

1099-misc (nonemployee compensation) income: You will report your income and business related expenses on schedule C or C-EZ (Form 1040). Then you put net income (or loss) on line 13 of 1040NR. Yes, in your case this income is not subject to SE tax (SS tax and Medicare tax) at 15.3%.
Both your W-2 and schedule C incomes are taxable.

    Thank you so much!!

So if I'm not going to pay 15.3% for SE, what kind of tax am I required to pay and how many percent?

    Thanks!
