Squealing wheels on citroen saxo - bearings?
    Hi guys
I need a little help. I have a Citroen Saxo SX 1.5d and it's squealing.

Basically it squeals when going strait and turning corners (the corners bit is newer), when I lightly apply the breaks it stops but then when I press firmer the breaks start squealing. I have new pads and disks before Xmas and the breaks have squealed since then but the squealing while driving is new. There is no squeal when not moving but there is a light ticking noise which doesn’t sound right. Do you think it could be my bearings? If so are they expensive to get replaced? (not to bothered by the ticking for now)

    Thanks

How many miles are on the car? What year?

The brakes may be squealing because the pads are compounded differently from what came on the car. If they came with organic pads, don't try semi-metallic. This is a common problem for DIYers and some repair shops. Another possibility is that the calipers are not floating properly--make sure the caliper pins are lubricated with silicone grease. Finally, change the brake fluid every two years--this prevents the pistons in the calipers from sticking and greatly extends the life of the calipers and braking system.

The ticking problem may be worn CV joints (half axles).

I picked up a Citroen Saxo in Paris several years ago and drove it all around Europe. I loved that little car. At first, I couldn't locate the push buttons for the windows. They were "hidden" on the end of the center console. Once I got used to it, I really liked it.
