CAVPDI is reported on W2 line 14. Is this deductible on sch A just like CASDI?

I believe the answer is no - you can not deduct CA VDI (Voluntary Disability Insurance) because it is not a tax, and as it's name suggests is not a manadatory payment to the state of CA. See: Publication 17 (2009), Your Federal Income Tax
