    Do I use putty or silicone on jaccussi drain
    I am confused I keep hearing different opinions on whether to use putty or silicone for my jaccussi tub drain/basket it threads in I used putty once before but it leaked awhike later causing more damage to the ciueling below, is silicone better ? Will I be able to remove the drain later if necessary? I would like to fiux this problem permanently. I have also been told you need to fill the void under the tub with foam. Is tis neecccessary The tub seems pretty stable? Can someone please clear this up I would like to feeeel good about the repair

    You can use both. We use plumber's putty all the time with satisfactory results. But some plumbers prefer silicone caulking. With silicone you have to apply it according to manufacturer's instructions + allow it to cure for 72 hours before you expose it to water.
