How do you wire a single switch (1 black 1 white 1 ground) to a 5 wire hunter remote?
I have an existing ceiling fan operated off a single switch (1-black, 1-white, and ground). I am trying to install a hunter ceiling fan remote (model 27157) with 5 wires (1-black/white, 1-red, 1 black, and 2-white commons). I have tried several combinations of wiring, including the recommended wiring and can't get it to work. When I wired the hunter black/white, red, and black with my household black and the 2 white hunter commons with my household common, I can get the remote to click, but it doesn't control anything. The hunter diagram suggested wiring the hunter black with my household black and one of the whites to my white. However, it has the other wires (black/white going to light kit, red going to fan, and white going to common. Since I only have 3 wires coming from mh household wiring, I'm not sure where to put these.

Problem is resolved. I misread the instructions.
