Tips and Tricks to Peeling Boiled Eggs?
    Hi, All!

    Are there any?

I get pretty sloppy in the kitchen. Sometimes I prepare some things that are tasty, sometimes... well, I guess that I might call them "experiments".

Peeling boiled eggs, to me, is something of a chore as well as a potential mess.

Is there an easy way to peel them, please?

    Thanks!

When I peel boiled eggs I always run them under cold water while peeling them. The water makes it easyer to peel them. The get shell usually comes off in on piece or a few pieces. Making very little of no mess.

You can also roll them on the counter with just a little pressure before peeling them under running water.

Okay, two are now peeled. Done so without the helpful tips!

Will try to use the helpful tips with the next ones!

    Thanks!

I just read a couple days ago that once the eggs are cool enough to handle... crack them a little then put back in the water until completely cool. The shell should come right off.

I'm going to try that next time along with the running water.

I really liked the rolling method as described by J_9! :)

Other ways of doing it are certainly welcome! I'm sure that there's more than one way to be efficient in doing it!

    Thanks!

Easiest way as described by Alton Brown: Steam half a dozen eggs for 12 minutes, and immediately shock them in an ice-water bath for 5. The cold shock will shrink the egg fast enough to loosen the membrane that attaches the shell to the egg white. They'll peel easily.

Steaming the eggs is gentler than boiling, so it's harder to overcook the egg.
