    2009 Tax Filing- 1040NR or 1040?
    Hi,

I came to US on Oct 23, 2009 and have never been to US before. Now I'm confused about filing the tax for the year 2009 since people are giving different suggestions on the filing process.

    INFO
    Date Arrived : Oct 23, 2009
Days Present in US on 2009 : 70 days
Current Location : US (Have been at US since Oct 23, 2009)
    Visa : H1B
    Status: Single
    Dependents: None

    1. Let me know whether I need to file 1040NR, 1040NREZ or 1040?
2a. If its 1040 - then can I file with turbo tax with default standard deduction (5700 something) and this is going to e-filing
2b. If its 1040NR(EZ) - does turbotax provide options to file 1040NR? Can e-filing be done for NR forms? I just heard that only paper filing is accepted.
    3. What would be the difference in the tax calculated based on Non Resident Filing and Resident? Is there any difference at all?
    4. What would be the expense for filing usually for NR or Resident forms? (I'm quoted around 100-150$ by a tax cosultant for filing NR form)
    5. How do we calculate the tax for NR filing? I checked tax table in 1040NR instructions and as per that, my withheld amount almost equals the tax calculated based on my gross (have put expemtions and itemised deductions as zero).

Please help me out here. I'm kind of lost...

    1. 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ.
    2. TurboTax will not do nonresident tax return. It must be paper return; can not be efiled.
    3. Nonresident do not get standard deduction. They must claim itemized deductions. H1-B tax filing: Your U.S. Tax Return: The U.S. Visas
