Automatic transmissions are the weak link in all FWD vehicles. Every 30,000 miles, the transmission pan should be dropped and cleaned, transmission filter replaced, and refilled with Mercon V ATF. I only recommend using full-synthetic ATF; e.g. Mobil 1 Sythetic Multi-Vehicle or Amsoil Universal Synthetic ATF. This link may help:

This has something to do with the transmission. The flashing light means that there is a code stored in the system related to transmission. Get the codes retrieved.
