If my baby mama do not allow me to see my kid for couple of months and I took her to court for custody, will I be held against in court for not seeing my child for that amount of time?

If a mom never allows daddy to see his kid for couple of months, if the daddy went and file papers for custody, is the daddy going to held against for not seeing his kid for that amount of time(not seeing the kid)?
