    Can I get back my tax refund back after the IRS intercepted it. They took becauseI default on my student loans?

    Sorry, it's gone!

    If you want to avoid future confiscations, adjust your tax withholding so you have to PAY both the IRS and state when you file your 2010 tax return.

    Did you default on your loans? If so why would you expect to be able to get the money back?

    If you owed less than the tax refund, you will be able to get the balance. But they are allowed to apply it to your debt. And if not paying, there are more penalty and interest all the time being added.
