My dog a west highland terrier as started coughing she is 13 but good for her age it may be a heart problem could I give her asprin to help.

I would not give Asprin for a heart problem, no.

Coughing can be an indication of many things, from worms, to a heart murmur to kennel cough. You need your vet to confirm what is wrong.

I agree way too many possibilities. And usually when dogs have heart issues, Asprin is not recommended. One of my dogs has a grade 3 heart murmer, and sometimes she gets coughing fits, asprin for her is a big time no-no.

You definitely need to ask your vet. What exactly is the heart problem?
